Top Ten Tuesday: Series that I’ve been meaning to start

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly list prompt hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. The theme for this week is:

June 20:  Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning To Start But Haven’t (topic originally done March 2013) — anyone else have a mile long list of series to start like I do??

This list had the potential to be never-ending. Especially since I’ve been feeling extra motivated to read all the books just lately. Here are some of the ones that I want to get to soon.

1 – The Young Elites – by Marie Lu

This has been on my TBR for a while now, and now that the trilogy is complete, I have the opportunity to marathon if I want. Part of me wants to save this to read while I’m on holiday in just over a months time, either way, I’m hoping to get this off of my TBR in the next few months.

2 – Falling Kingdoms – by Morgan Rhodes

This is a really popular series, and it has been recommended to me on multiple occasions. I do want to read it, I just haven’t managed to get around to it yet, and with every addition to the series, it becomes more and more daunting. Still, someday I will start this series, I hope.

3 – Wayward Children – by Seanan McGuire

I love the concept for this series. I don’t know too much about it, just that it focuses on children who have been to other worlds and returned to reality. The aftermath of portal fantasys such as the Chronicles of Narnia. It’s a really unique idea, and one that I am really interested in. Plus the first book features an asexual character, which is something that I’ve been wanting to read.

4 – Themis Files – by Sylvain Neuvel

I’ve heard amazing things about these books from both reviewers and book sellers, and I’ve also been looking to read more science fiction. I picked up a copy of the first book recently and I intend to get to this one very soon.

5 – Wolf by wolf – by Ryan Graudin

Not only has this series received amazing reviews and buzz, but I keep hearing wonderful things about the author, Ryan Graudin. I picked Wolf by Wolf up on kindle a few months back, I haven’t gotten around to it yet, but I’m hoping to change that.

6 – The Girl from Everywhere – by Heidi Heilig

I have heard nothing but good things about this one. It involves sailing through time and to different worlds, and I love the idea of it. I’ve been really in the mood for something like this, and with so many positive reviews, I’ll be looking to pick up a copy soon.

7 – The Worlds of Radiance – by Brandon Sanderson

This one intimidates me. The books are so big that they are each released split into two volumes in the UK. That blows my mind, plus I’ve heard that there are going to be quite a few books in the series when it is finished. I’ve loved everything I’ve read from Brandon Sanderson so far, but this is a massive undertaking.

8 – The Diviners – by Libba Bray

This book just has an excellent reputation, it’s kind of on the long side, which is probably part of why I haven’t read it yet. Set in the 1920’s with occult and supernatural elements, this book seems quite different to anything I’ve read before, and incredibly interesting. It may be more of an autumn read, but I’m hoping to at least get to this before the end of the year.

9 – The Girl of Fire and Thorns – by Rae Carson

This YA fantasy seems to rank highly for a lot of people with similar reading tastes to me. Not to mention the fact that I keep hearing wonderful things about Rae Carson as an author. I need to get my hands on these books at some point, because I’m almost certain that I will enjoy them.

10 – The Fire Sermon – by Francesca Haig

This is a recently finished trilogy, one I’ve had my eye on since the first book came out. Set in a world where only twins are born, and one is imperfect and sent away. Where if one twin dies, so does the other. It’s an incredibly interesting concept, and I don’t actually want to know any more about this book. I get the sense that it’s better to go in blind.

So there is a glimpse at some of the many series that I would love to get to someday. If only I had more time, space and money. Have you read any of these series? Any I should prioritize? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
