April 26th: Authors You Want to Read More From
–Talk about some authors that you’ve only read one or a few books from, and you NEED to read more!

I love this topic, I’m always finding new authors to love, and catching up on their backlist can be a nightmare, between new releases and an already mountainous TBR pile.

1 – Brandon Sanderson

While I have read most of the books in the Mistborn series, as well as Steelheart, but Brandon Sanderson has written so many books that I want to read. I actually own a good few of them already, but those books are so big and intimidating. Even though I know that most likely I will really enjoy them.

2 – Rick Riordan

I’ve only read the first couple of books in the Percy Jackson series, and that was years ago. But recently I reread The Lightning Thief and really enjoyed it. Now I want to read all of the books set in the Percy Jackson, eventually. There are a lot of books out already, it’s kind of intimidating knowing how many books I need to catch up on.

3 – Derek Landy

The Skulduggery Pleasant series is one I lost track of over the years, recently I picked up the first book on my kindle app, and I thing I enjoyed it even more the second time around. I’ve already got the second book on standby, ready for when I have time. This is another big series, so I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. On top of that, there is the newer Demon Road series, which I also want to read eventually.

4 – Maria V Snyder

I inhaled poison study last year, really enjoyed it, could not put it down. It’s one of the rare occasions of me reading a book in one day. Since then I have acquired a number of Maria V Snyder’s other titles, but still haven’t actually gotten around to reading them. It needs to happen, and I’m determined it will, eventually.

5 – Melissa Landers

I loved Starflight when I read it last year, it was a lot of fun, I loved the characters and it gave me warm firefly nostalgia vibes. I haven’t read the sequel yet, but I am definitely planning on, I’m just trying extra hard to not buy books at the moment because I’m trying to save. I’m also intrigued by Melissa Landers’ alienated series, I hope to read it someday.

So as you might gather, I have a lot of catching up to do. To be honest I try not to think about all the books I want to get to eventually, because between them, new releases and all the books I want to reread, I feel like I could quite easily be buried.

  1. Ah both Sanderson and Riordan on this list, two of my favorite authors :D! I really recommend you to read more from them. For Sanderson, it could be good to read the stand alones first like Elantris and Warbreaker, then start reading The Stormlight Archive, as it will be a looong series (and I’m honestly dying for the next book)…

    1. I have both Elantris and Warbreaker sitting on my shelf! I want to get to at least one of them this summer. The Stormlight Archive really intimidates me because of how big it is, but I know I’ll read it eventually. I honesty don’t know how he writes so much. Not that I’m complaining!

      1. Yeah first you’d think he had to use Hermoine’s time-thingy, until you’ve finished almost all of his books and just want him to release mooore… Anyway, I think Warbreaker is my favorite of those two, because it just completely caught me off guards and screwed up my mind with the plot-twists!
