December 7th – Books You Want to Finally Read in 2017
These are those books you meant to read in 2016 or 2015 or 2014 and never got around to. Those books that have been sitting on your TBR for a while, and you really want to get to. These aren’t upcoming 2017 releases; these are older books that need your love too!
This topic feels incredibly relevant; I have many books which have sat on my shelf unread for far too long. I want to make it my mission to shrink my physical TBR next year. Just looking at all those unread books stresses me out sometimes. Plus then I’ll feel less guilty for buying new books!
- The Night Circus – By Erin Morgenstern
This is a book that I’ve been meaning to read for years, I’m way overdue for reading this one. I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this book, everyone seems to love it. Maybe I’m scared that my expectations a too high?
- The Name of the Wind – By Patrick Rothfuss
This has been on my TBR for a while, I’m constantly hearing fantastic things about it, but it’s so intimidating! It’s a huge book, and while I’m fairly certain that I’ll enjoy it I still haven’t picked it up.
- The Diviners – By Libba Bray
I feel like I’m repeating myself when I say that I’ve heard great things about this book. The only reasons that I can think of that have delayed me picking this book up is the size and the fact that it is sort of historical fiction (not a genre I reach for very often and one I have to be in the right mood for). It’s time for me to stop with the excuses and finally read this book.
- Clariel – By Garth Nix
I didn’t want to read this until I had reread the Old Kingdom Trilogy because I had forgotten so many of the details. It took me way too long to complete that reread and so this book remains unread – I actually saw a pretty major spoiler for this book recently, which has only made me put this book off even longer.
- Neverwhere – By Neil Gaiman
I’ve been meaning to read something my Neil Gaiman for the longest time, but I picked up a copy of Neverwhere a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I’ve never gotten around to reading it. Hopefully 2017 will be the year I pick this up.
Have you read any of these books? Loved them? Please let me know in the comments.
The Name of the Wind is an awesome book.😀
